I mix the bottle with baby oil to help with relief of a sun burn, the baby oil keeps the skin moist while the Merthiolate promotes the healing. It is diluted by the baby oil. The product I just bought did not contain the red die though. It was clear. Has promoted fast healing for my sunburn. I used to use it to get a nice even tan and it prevented burning when I was younger. I have never had skin cancer.
